Tourism companies plan to invest at least EUR 511 mln in Croatia this year, about EUR 135 mln more than last year, while counties, cities and municipalities will spend around EUR 300 mln. This year’s total investment in tourism made by both public and private sectors will climb to EUR 800 mln, according to the Tourism Ministry

Valamar Riviera, Maistra and Turkish Dogus Group will implement the largest investments. Zadar-based Falkensteiner will invest EUR 15 mln in Punta hotels, and an additional EUR 8.0 mln in Borik.

Pula-based Arenaturist is preparing investments exceeding EUR 12 mln, while Biograd-based Ilirija plans to invest around EUR 4.0 mln is raising the quality of its facilities.

An investment in expanding More Hotel has been announced, as well as investments in Importanne Resort, Hoteli Plat and Excelsior Hotel in Dubrovnik.

Jadran Crikvenica plans to reconstruct its Esplanada Hotel to a four-star facility. Jadran will also invest in Omorika, Katarina and Slaven hotels, as well as in Selce camp.

In the Split area, Bacvice will get a new boutique hotel, while a EUR 30 mln resort will be built in Makarska. A new hotel is being built in Solin, as well as a new hotel complex in Kastel Luksic, on the site of the former resort of the Croatian Railways.

Milna Hotel & Marina in the Brac village of Milna will be reconstructed and upgraded to a four-star facility, while Podgora-based Medora Hotels & Resorts (MHR) is expanding facilities.

Duce will receive a hotel with 97 rooms, while Bluesun is building a luxury hotel on the site of the old Jadran building in Tucepi.

Investments have also been announced by Suncani Hvar, Karisma Hotels, Hoteli Medena, Hotel Berulia, etc. Hoteli Orebic and HTP Korcula have announced investments, worth EUR 10 mln.

In Velika Gorica, the Royal Airport hotel will be refurbished and a new facility, called Garden Hill, will be built.

In Pakrac, the renovated Pakrac hotel will open, while historic buildings Kursalon and Wandelbahn will be reconstructed. Regina apartment complex will be renovated in Terme Sveti Martin. In Krapinske Toplice a new four-star hotel will be built and the existing Villa Magdalena property will be reconstructed.

Matija Gubec will be reconstructed and construction of a new hotel and tourist center will appear in Terme Stubaki.

An additional 66 new rooms and an outdoor swimming pool will be built in Terme Jezercica and a 30-room hotel building with conference rooms will be added to SE-MI Hotel in Veliko Trgovisce.
