A total of 3,167,059 tourists visited the Republic of Serbia in the January-October 2019, which is 6% more compared to the same period in 2018, the Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS) says in a press release.
As shown by the data of the Statistical Office of Serbia, of this number, 1,588,895 were local tourists (6% more compared to January-October 2018), or 50% of the total number of guests, whereas the number of foreign ones amounted to 1,578,164 (7% more), that is, 50% of the total number of guests.
In the first nine months of the current year, there were a total of 8,743,413 overnight stays (6% more compared to the same period last year). The biggest number of overnight stays in the January-October 2019 period was realized by tourists from B&H, followed by tourists from China, Montenegro, Turkey, Russia etc.
Foreign tourists mostly visited Belgrade, followed by Novi Sad, Zlatibor, Vrnjacka Banja, Kopaonik… Domestic tourists mostly visited Vrnjacka Banja, followed by Zlatibor, Sokobanja, Kopaonik, Belgrade etc.
