In November 2023, the number of 3,357 building permits was issued, presenting the increase of 20.7% when compared to November 2022, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced today. Out of the total number of permits issued in November 2023, 84.2% related to buildings, and 15.8% to civil engineering constructions.

When only buildings are concerned, 87.1% of permits related to residential buildings, and 12.9% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering constructions the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (64.7%).

According to the permits issued in November 2023 in the Republic of Serbia, the construction of 3,783 dwellings with average useful floor space of 74.4 m2 was recorded.

Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 8.9% of dwellings will be built in single-dwelling buildings, with average useful floor space of 139.0 m2, and 89.9% of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with significantly smaller average useful floor space of 67.2 m2.

Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in Beogradska oblast, 40.0% of the anticipated value of new construction works, followed by Braničevska oblast 19.7%, Južnobačka oblast, 8.1%, Raška oblast, 4.7% and Zapadnobačka oblast, 3.0%.
