Rijeka authorities have approved amendments to the city’s spatial and master plans, allowing construction of a hotel and commercial facilities along the Kantrida stadium.
“The alteration of the physical plan will allow investors to reconstruct or build a new stadium as well as to develop a hotel and business and commercial facilities,” Rijeka Mayor Vojko Obersnel said.
Otherwise, changes to the spatial plan are only one of the prerequisites for construction of a new stadium with a hotel and business and commercial facilities on the Kantrida stadium site. As it is not possible to acquire the site, interested investors from Stadion Kantrida doo will now have to enter into a concession agreement.
