A European banking institution is considering providing EUR 32 mln in loan finance for the expansion and upgrade of the Dubrovnik Airport.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is planning to provide a EUR 32 mln loan to Dubrovnik Airport doo, to help finance a EUR 274 mln project, involving construction of an additional passenger terminal, rehabilitation of the existing runways and taxiways, and a range of other infrastructure improvements.
The project will be co-financed with EU structural funds.
According to the project’s environment impact assessment (EIA), the airport is expected to serve around 3.98 million passengers by 2032.
The existing 26,000 sq. m passenger terminal is already overcrowded.
The airport posted a 4.1 pct increase in passenger numbers to 1.58 million last year.
