Croatia’s trade deficit increased to 13.9 billion euro ($15 billion) in the first nine months of the year, compared with a gap of 13.1 billion euro in the same period of 2023, the country’s statistical office said on Friday.
Exports rose 3.5% on the year to 17.5 billion euro, while imports increased 4.7% to 31.4 billion euro, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement, quoting preliminary data.

Croatia’s exports to the European Union (EU) edged up 0.1% year-on-year in the review period, to 11.5 billion euro, whereas the country’s imports from the EU rose by 8.3% to 24.6 billion euro.
Croatia’s trade deficit declined to 16.6 billion euro last year from 17.8 billion euro in 2022.
