Croatia’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by a real 2.9% in 2016, the country’s State Statistics Office said in a flash estimate.

In the fourth quarter of 2016, Croatia’s GDP increased by a real 3.4% on the year on the back of growth in exports, the statistics office said in a statement.

Seasonally-adjusted GDP in the October-December period edged up by 0.6% compared to the previous quarter and was up by 3.5% compared to the same quarter of 2015.

In 2015, Croatia’s GDP increased by a real 1.6%, reversing a contraction of 0.4% in 2014.

The statistics office said that it will publish final data on the country’s 2016 GDP on March 7.
