Croatia’s consumer prices rose by 3.4% on the year in December, following a 2.8% annual increase in November.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices added 0.1% in December, after growing 0.4% in November, the Bureau of Statistics said in a release of final inflation data for December, confirming its first estimate announced on January 7.
In annual terms, there was a 5.1% increase in the price of food and soft drinks in December, while healthcare costs went up 5.5%. The most significant annual rise, of 9.6%, was observed in prices at restaurants and hotels.

Croatia’s average annual inflation slowed down 3.0% last year from to 8.0% in 2023 and 10.8% in 2022.
Measured by the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), prices of goods and services for personal consumption in Croatia increased by an average 4.5% year-on-year in December, following a 4.0% increase in November. On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices increased by 0.,2% in December, after they stagnated in November.

Croatia reported 4.0% average annual increase in EU-harmonised prices last year, compared to 8.4% in 2023 and 10.7% in 2022.
