The beginning of the works on the construction of the Sabac-Loznica fast route was marked today in Macvanski Prnjavor.

The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced that the Ruma-Sabac road would be completed by the end of September 2023, which means that, in a year and a half, it will take no more than 45 minutes to travel between Belgrade and Sabac, whereas a trip between Belgrade and Loznica will take an hour and 10 minutes.

He pointed out that the new traffic route would facilitate life for people in Macva and Jadar and attract new investors, as announced on the government’s website.

The commercial contract on the designing and the execution of the works on the Ruma-Sabac highway and the Sabac-Loznica fast route was signed on November 19, 2019, with the Azerbaijani company Azvirt.

The total length of the section is 77 kilometers, of which the Ruma-Sabac highway is 22 kilometers long, whereas the length of the Sabac-Loznica section, to be built as a fast road, is 55 kilometers.

The plan includes the construction of a total of 56 structures, namely, 54 bridges and two interchanges.

The construction of the Ruma-Sabac highway and the Sabac-Loznica fast road is one of the priority tasks when it comes to road transport, considering that it is a project that is important for the connection and development of Srem, Macva and western Serbia and Vojvodina, but also for the connection of this part of Serbia with the region, primarily Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is added.
