Construction activity in Croatia is sharply increasing! The number of building permits issued in 2016, 8018, was up 26.7% compared with the previous year. Flats and apartments were even issued 35.2% more building permits than in 2015. The total value of construction reached 23.3 billion Kuna (approx. 3.1 billion Euro). 80% of the permits were issued for buildings, 72% of those for residential buildings. The other permits went to pipelines, communication and power lines as well as industrial and transport infrastructure. 68% of all permits were for new construction, 32% for reconstruction.
