Croatia’s consumer prices increased by 3.7% on the year in April, after rising 4.1% in March, the statistical office said in a first estimate.<\/p>\n
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia’s consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.7% in April, after adding 0.9% in March, the Bureau of Statistics said.<\/p>\n
In April, prices of food, beverages, and tobacco rose by 4.5% year-on-year. Service costs increased by 6.3%, industrial non-food products (excluding energy) saw a 2.0% rise, while energy prices grew 1.1%.<\/p>\n
The statistical office will release final inflation data for April on May 17.<\/p>\n
Measured by the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), prices of goods and services for personal consumption in Croatia increased by an average 4.7% year-on-year in April. On a monthly comparison basis, HICP rose by an estimated 1.0% in April.<\/p>\n
Croatia reported a 4.9% annual rise and a 0.9% monthly increase in HICP in March.<\/p>\n
