Croatia’s consumer prices increased by 4.1% on the year in February, after rising at the same rate in January, the statistical office said in a first estimate on Friday.<\/p>\n
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia’s consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.2% in February, after edging down by 0.4% in January, the Bureau of Statistics said.<\/p>\n
In February, prices of food, beverages, and tobacco rose by 5.5% year-on-year. Service costs increased by 6.4%, industrial non-food products (excluding energy) saw a 2.5% rise, while energy prices grew 0.4%.<\/p>\n
The statistical office will release final inflation data for February on March 15.<\/p>\n
Measured by the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), prices of goods and services for personal consumption in Croatia increased by an average 4.8% year-on-year in February. On a monthly comparison basis, HICP rose by an estimated 0.3% in February.<\/p>\n
Croatia reported a 4.8% annual rise and a 0.3% monthly decline in HICP in January.<\/p>\n
