Croatia’s consumer prices increased by 4.1% on the year in January, after rising by 4.5% in December, the statistical office said in on Thursday.<\/p>\n
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia’s consumer price index (CPI) edged down by 0.4% in January, following a 0.5% dip in December, the Bureau of Statistics said confirming its initial estimate released on February 1.<\/p>\n
In January, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 6.5% year-on-year while transportation costs went up 3.7%.<\/p>\n
Measured by the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), prices of goods and services for personal consumption in Croatia increased by an average 4.8% year-on-year in January. On a monthly comparison basis, HICP edged down by an estimated 0.3% in January.<\/p>\n
Croatia reported a 5.4% annual rise and a 0.3% monthly decline in HICP in December.<\/p>\n
