Buyers were\u00a0enticed by a stamp duty holiday,\u00a0which has now come to an end.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-lcepkR htgpDr\">\n<p>UK Finance, the trade association for the UK banking and financial services sector, today said 2020 was set to be a record year for mortgage lending. Banks will lend \u00a3316 billion against houses this year, up\u00a031% on 2020 levels.
