The UK\u2019s property market experienced a promising first month of 2019, according to the latest data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index.<\/p>\n
It revealed that the market gained momentum throughout January, with national figures showing month-on-month growth in new listings \u2018For Sale\u2019 (at 113.1%) while figures for properties \u2018Sold\u2019 remained on trend at 45.6%.<\/p>\n
Delving into the Index\u2019s archives, it soon becomes clear that 2019\u2019s figures were more robust than those recorded in the same period of 2018.<\/p>\n
All 12 regions across the UK recorded by the Property Activity Index continued their upward trend, reporting rises in both new listings \u2018For Sale\u2019 and properties \u2018Sold\u2019.<\/p>\n

East Anglia, though, was January\u2019s top performing region. After three successive months of decline, month-on-month figures for new listings bounced back at 156.7%. What\u2019s more, the\u00a0increase in new listings across the region was the largest on record for January. Figures for properties \u2018Sold\u2019, on the other hand, remained true to trend at 59.8%.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, a buoyant market was also witnessed in the South West, with new listings \u2018For Sale\u2019 at 124.5%. Year-on-year figures for new listings, however, fell across the region.<\/p>\n
Other regional hotspots for new listings \u2018For Sale\u2019 included London (123.9%), the East Midlands (118.7%), Yorkshire and Humberside (117.1%), the West Midlands (110%) and the North West (102.8%).<\/p>\n
The other most impressive regions for properties \u2018Sold\u2019 were Scotland (59.8%), the East Midlands (59.1%), Wales (52.00%), the North East (51.7%) and the North West (51.4%).<\/p>\n
\u201cJanuary\u2019s figures from the Agency Express Property Activity Index have reported favourably across the nation,\u201d Stephen Watson, managing director of estate agent board firm Agency Express, said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTowards the end of 2018 (the) Property Activity Index highlighted the usual seasonal declines but the figures remained comparatively robust.
