The foreign trade of Serbia in the first ten months of the current year amounted to around EUR 31.7 billion, an increase by 11.3% compared to the same period last year, with the exports higher by 8.3% and the imports higher by 13.7%, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced on Friday, November 30, 2018.<\/p>\n
The value of exports amounted to EUR 13.6 billion and the value of imports amounted to EUR 18.1 billion.<\/p>\n
Expressed in dollars, the overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January – October 2018 amounted to USD 37.7 billion, an increase of 18.3% compared to the same period in 2017. The value of exports amounted to USD 16.2 billion, which was a 15.1% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 21.5 billion, which was a 20.8% increase relative to the same period last year.<\/p>\n
The deficit expressed in euros increased by 33.9%, whereas the deficit expressed in dollars increased by 42.2%.<\/p>\n
The export – import ratio equaled 75.3% and was lower if compared to the same period last year when it was 79%.<\/p>\n
The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which Serbia has signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 63.6% of total external trade.<\/p>\n
Serbia’s main foreign trade partners were Italy, Germany, B&H, Romania and Russia, when it comes to exports, and Germany, Italy, China, Russia and Hungary, when it comes to imports.<\/p>\n
Serbia’s second major partner are the CEFTA countries, with the gained surplus in external trade amounting to USD 1.9 billion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
