{"id":2782,"date":"2017-05-26T08:02:48","date_gmt":"2017-05-26T08:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/poseidon-gp.com\/property\/?p=2782"},"modified":"2017-05-26T08:02:48","modified_gmt":"2017-05-26T08:02:48","slug":"tourist-arrivals-to-croatia-rise-22-pct-in-january-april-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/poseidon-gp.com\/property\/tourist-arrivals-to-croatia-rise-22-pct-in-january-april-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Tourist Arrivals to Croatia Rise 22 Pct in January-April 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tourist arrivals to Croatia increased by 22 pct y-o-y in the first four months of 2017 to 1.7 million, while the number of overnights rose by 26 pct, reaching 4.7 million, Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli said.<\/p>\n<p>According to data of the eVisitor system, of the total number of arrivals and nights, foreign tourists realized 1.3 million arrivals (+25 pct) and 3.6 million nights (+30 pct), while domestic tourists recorded growth of 14 pct in arrivals and 15 pct in overnight stays .<\/p>\n<p>From January to April most of the overnights were realized in Istria (1.2 million overnight stays), Kvarner (750,000 nights) and Dubrovnik-Neretva County (600,000 overnight stays). Next is the Split-Dalmatia County with 593,000 overnight stays, Zagreb with 501,000 nights, Zadar with 300,000 overnight stays, Sibenik-Knin with 179,000 overnight stays and Lika-Senj County with 85,000 overnight stays. On the continent, most of the overnight stays were realized in Krapina-Zagorje County with about 94,000 nights and Medjimurje (49,000 nights), Osijek-Baranja (48,000 nights), Karlovac (45,000 nights) and Vukovar- Srijem County (43,000 nights).<\/p>\n<p>Looking at destinations, most nights were spent in Zagreb (501,000 nights), Dubrovnik (438,000 nights), Porec (233,000 nights), Opatija (209,000 nights) and Rovinj (197,000 nights). Most tourist nights were realized by tourists from Germany (546,000 nights), Slovenia (489,000 nights), Austria (437,000 nights), Italy (260,000 nights) and BiH (236,000 nights), while domestic tourists realized 1.09 million overnights.<\/p>\n<p>In April, there were 935,000 arrivals and 2.8 million overnight stays. Compared to April last year, the number of arrivals was 38 pct up, and nights &#8211; 48 pct. Out of the total number of arrivals and nights, foreign tourists realized 785,000 arrivals (+45 pct) and 2.4 million overnight stays (+54 pct), while domestic tourists recorded growth of 11 pct in arrivals and 23 pct in overnight stays.<\/p>\n<p>In April, most of the overnight stays were realized in Istria (847,000), Kvarner (441,000) and the County of Split-Dalmatia (391,000 nights). Next is Dubrovnik-Neretva County with 389,000 nights, Zadar with 205,000, Zagreb with 173,000, Sibenik-Knin with 120,000 and Lika-Senj County with 55,000.<\/p>\n<p>On the continent, most of the overnight stays were realized in the Krapina-Zagorje County with 25,000 nights and Karlovac with 23,000 nights. Most of the overnight stays were made by tourists from Germany (435,000 nights), Slovenia (334,000), Austria (317,000), Italy (162,000) and UK (127,000), while domestic tourists realized 390,000 nights in April.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe that this year we will see an increase in tourist turnover well above the European average.
