A new port is set to built on the island of Kor\u010dula.<\/p>\n
The brand new 10-million euro port, which will be financed by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, will be built in \u017drnovska Banja (Pola\u010di\u0161ta), just five kilometres from the Old Town of Kor\u010dula.<\/p>\n
There was a 7% increase in the number of passenger arrivals through Kor\u010dula\u2019s port in 2016 compared to the year prior. This year 1.12 million passengers passed through the island\u2019s port.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year we are expecting passenger numbers passing through Kor\u010dula port to pass 1.2 million, which makes Kor\u010dula, together with Split, the second biggest port in Croatia after Dubrovnik\u201d, Kor\u010dula Port Director Vedran Lelekovi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n
Currently Kor\u010dula\u2019s western and eastern port can not cater for boats longer than 100 metres. According to Lelekovi\u0107, the new port, which will be able to handle big cruisers, will start to be built in three years time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
