Croatian marinas registered a rise in the number of guests and overnight stays last year. According to data provided by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, a total of 2.47 million overnight stays were achieved at Croatian marinas last year or nearly 4.0 pct more than the year before.<\/p>\n
The largest Croatian marina, Dalmacija, part of Dogus Group\u2019s D-Marin, recorded the strongest number of overnight stays last year, of 285,000, followed by Marina Seget Donji with 233,000 overnight stays, while ACI marinas Split, Trogir, and Sibenik had 145,000 overnight stays.<\/p>\n
Approximately 362,000 nautical tourists rested last year in Croatia, or about 20,000 more than the year before, of which 24,000 domestic. The vast majority of foreigners came mainly from Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
Last year\u2019s income from the nautical tourism is not yet known, but due to the slightly higher number of overnight stays, it is expected to exceed the 2014 figure of HRK 716.6 mln.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s main investments in Croatian marinas are being implemented by ACI and Dogus Group. In particular, ACI will open this season its \u2018Veljko Barbieri\u2019 marina in Slano, while Turkish Dogus Group, which holds an 11 pct stake in ACI, will open a EUR 10 mln exclusive beach bar at D-Marin Dalmacija. It is the currently the biggest marina in Croatia with 1,200 berths, another 300 on the mainland and its own beach.
