The real GDP growth in the third quarter of 2023, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounted to 3.6%, and according to seasonally adjusted GDP data, gross domestic product increased by 1.3% in the third quarter of 2023, compared to the previous quarter, announced the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.

Observed by activities, in the third quarter of 2023, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, significant real growth in the gross value added was recorded in the section of construction (12.8%), the section of agriculture, forestry and fishing (9.5%) and the section of industry and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (3.4%).

Observed by expenditure aggregates, in the third quarter of 2023, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, real growth was noted for the household final consumption expenditure (1.3%), the non-profit institutions serving households (NPISH) final consumption expenditure (2.7%), the general government final consumption expenditure (1.7%) and the gross fixed capital formation (4.1%).

Real fall was registered for the exports of goods and services (1.5%) and the imports of goods and services (1.2%).

Industrial production higher by 3%

Industrial production in the Republic of Serbia, in October 2023 was higher by 3% compared to the same month in 2022, and compared to the 2022 average was by 8% higher.

Industrial production for the period January – October 2023 compared to the same period last year was by 2.4% higher.

Observed by sections, in October 2023, compared to October 2022, industrial production in the Mining and quarrying section increased by 1.7%, production in Manufacturing section increased by 3.3%, and the production in the Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply section increased by 1.8%.
